The Howe Branch is a beautiful place to read. They have a study room and a large meeting room that you can reseve. The children's room is gorgeous and i love going there with my daughter and her friends afterschool at least once a week. They have lots of weekly programs including a Monday memoir group and Friday afternoon Playstation gaming for 9-17 y.o.
Oh and you dont need to come inside to access APL wifi! It works outside on Schuyler Street. Free wifi 24-7 -
The children's play area is pleasant during school hours.. after school it can get hectic, noisy. The local unemployed and at times potentially homeless do make use of the services there so be friendly yet careful.

Clean and lovely staff! Don’t live in albany, but needed a spot to get WiFi and charge my phone on a trip and was met with very lovely staff.

Wonderful celebration for APL 100th anniversary! The Howe branch is a beautiful building right across from the Schuyler Mansion. Friendly and helpful staff.. Even if it's not in your own neighborhood, it's totally worth checking out. Albany is lucky to have such a great public library system. Oh and follow them on IG, their posts are great :)

Great staff , not big like Washington avenue library,but they have a children's section that Washington doesn't, it's peaceful
